After twenty years of teaching English in China, I’ve reached a turning point. My classroom has been full of stories, laughter, and learning — but my heart has always been drawn to another kind of classroom: one filled with paws, tails, and quiet eyes that speak volumes.
This blog marks the start of my transition into canine behaviour and welfare — a journey that blends empathy, observation, and science. It’s not just about dogs; it’s about understanding connection, trust, and communication across species.
I’ve learned that behaviour isn’t just what we see — it’s what we listen to. Every bark, every glance, every hesitation tells a story. And I want to learn how to read those stories properly.
Here, I’ll share my learning process, my reflections, and the experiences that shape me as I move from the classroom to the kennel, from textbooks to training leads, from theory to compassion in action.
This is the beginning.
A new chapter.
A new purpose.
