My journey into canine behaviour & welfare

I’m Wayne Viviers — a lifelong educator now transitioning into the world of canine behaviour and welfare.
After twenty years of teaching in China, I’ve learned how patience, communication, and empathy shape every meaningful interaction. Those same qualities drew me toward canine behaviour, where understanding and compassion matter just as deeply.
Where My Journey Began
I’ve completed foundational studies in canine behaviour, welfare, and training principles. These early courses helped me understand how dogs learn, communicate, and respond to the world around them.
What I’m Learning Now
I’m currently expanding into more advanced behaviour analysis and hands‑on volunteer work. Each step deepens my understanding and strengthens my ability to support dogs in meaningful, practical ways.
Where I’m Heading Next
My next steps include deeper work in behaviour modification, shelter support, and practical welfare interventions. I’m building toward a future where I can contribute to canine wellbeing with knowledge, skill, and heart.
A Personal Note
A big part of this journey was shaped by the dog I loved and lost. His life — and his passing — changed the way I understand responsibility, empathy, and the bond we share with animals.
I honour his memory on a dedicated page of this site.
Why This Site Exists
This site exists to document my learning, share what I discover, and keep myself accountable as I build a new chapter rooted in purpose, compassion, and the animals who inspire me.
Thank you for being here. This journey is personal, evolving, and deeply meaningful — and I’m grateful to share it.
