More info about the Blog.

In my previous article, you will recall that I defined what a website, a blog, a post, a page and what static means.

In this article I will go into a simple further explanation about what a blog is. By the time you have read to the end of this post/article, you will know how to use this website or any other website for that matter.

As it is assumed that you now understand what a blog is, a blog can really be about anything and every thing. It all depends on the owner of the website.

As my website and more specifically my blog is both a personal as well as a business venture, I address personal aspects of my life (which is for family and friends) and I also address potential business aspects.

Now back to the salient point/s about a blog…

Once again, a blog is not only the active part of the website, it literally is the heart of the website because this is where all of the action is. Since this is where all of the action is, it makes sense then that the blog have different sections that distinguish the different bits of information one from the other. This is done by means of what is called categories. It is this very feature that will either make or break a website. For example; a website about a massive restaurant will have an about us page, a contact us page and a blog. The pages are all static as there is no information that needs to be changed. The blog though will have a breakfast category (and all of the dishes they have on their menu for serving breakfast). Another category could be about lunch (and all of the dishes they have on their menu or on offer for serving lunch. Lastly, another category could be about about dinner (and all the dishes they have on their menu for serving dinner). Does this makes sense now? This is just an example.

It is up to the owner or administrator of a website to decide what categories he or she wants, what information he or she wants to give and also about how many or how few categories there will be. It is this that drives the internet public to a website because a particular category with its keywords is what interests a member or members of the public.

In my case, on my main homepage, there is a screenshot I took of the categories I have on this blog so nothing further needs to be explained there. In the next paragraph below, I will show you how you can access the various categories on here.

How To Find the Various Categories.

Basically, you only need to scroll down the page but whilst you are scrolling (as you can see in the animated image above), look on the right hand side of the page and look for the archives which is under the recent comments and then you will find categories and wallah, there you go, click on the category of your choice and you will find all of the articles or posts I have written for each category. That is how you access the various categories. It is that simple.

See? And there you have it. Told you it wouldn’t be difficult.
